Language in Bloom - Toddler

Language in Bloom is a series of playgroups for children ages 12 mos. through three and their parent or caregiver. Each class includes an education component with important information about how to facilitate speech and language development during daily interactions at home in addition to time for the children to enjoy supervised play.

Speech in the Wild - Preschool

Speech in the Wild is a series of outdoor-based playgroups for children ages 3-5 and their parent or caregiver. Each class is centered around a children’s book and incorporates connected vocabulary, concepts, and early literacy skills. Children and their caregivers will then have an opportunity to engage in a variety of play and learning activities outdoors. Information about how to incorporate speech and language development into unstructured play will be provided.

Reading and Rhthym

Reading and Rhythm is a book-based dance and movement class for children ages 2-5 and their parent or caregiver. Each class, co-facilitated by an SLP and an early-childhood dance teacher, is centered around a seasonally relevant book and incorporates connected vocabulary, concepts, and early literacy skills. Children will explore movement and dance concepts, mindfulness, body awareness during music and movement activities. Children will have the opportunity to practice these skills during structured play activities.

Seeds of Literacy

Seeds of Literacy is a series of classes for children ages three through six. Each class uses a particular book to introduce emergent literacy skills critical for reading success. Children will expand their knowledge of narrative, vocabulary, phonological awareness, and print through theme-based art, music, games, and other activities.

Roots and Resilience

Roots and Resilience is a social-emotional skills group for preschool and
early elementary children ages four through eight. Throughout this series of classes children will learn learn about mindfulness, feelings and emotions, problem solving, and gratitude. They will be given opportunities to practice what they have learned through structured activities and play.

Consultation and Advocacy

Meadow Speech Therapy, in conjunction with experienced educators, is available to provide consultation, advocacy, and support to parents and caregivers as they work with their local school systems. We are available to assist in identifying and documenting appropriate interventions and/or accommodations in the general education setting or to help navigate the special education process. Professional Development

Meadow Speech Therapy, in conjunction with educators and other professionals, is available to provide professional workshops and trainings. Many providers are able to provide OCCRA approved continuing education hours. Please contact us to let us know what kind of training or professional development you are interested in.
